The spillway has 15 radial gates each of size 12 m x 6.50 m to pass the design flood discharge of 5774 m3 /s.

ii. 58 km long Left Bank Canal (LBC) with 5.41 m3 /s discharge at head to irrigate 6000 ha area (ICA) in Nanded district (4446 ha in Loha Taluka and 1554 ha in Kandhar Taluka).

The ultimate irrigation potential of the project is 12420 ha. The provision has also been kept to supply 1.84 Mm3 of water annually to Kandhar Town for domestic use. The CCA of the project is 9980 hectare.

Subsequent to TAC clearance, the Planning Commission, Govt. of India accorded investment clearance to the project for an estimated cost of Rs. 26.18342 crore in 1997.
