Project in Brief

The components of the project are as under:

i) 3780 m long earth dam

ii) 159 m long centrally located ogee type gated spillway.

iii) 49.38 km long Left Main Canal (LMC)

iv) 8.22 km long Right Main Canal (RMC).

v) 3 nos. dykes, 660m, 542m and 1190m long respectively.

vi) Right & left canal head regulators.

vii) Distribution system.

Estimated cost of the project, as approved by Planning Commission in 1999, is Rs.211.70 crore. The project was included under AIBP assistance during 1999-2000. The 1st revised approved estimated cost of the project (at 2004 level) is Rs.521.13 crore. The latest revised cost is Rs.1182.23 crore (2008 price level), approved by 98th TAC of MOWR on 9th July, 2009. Investment clearance has been obtained from the Planning Commission for revised cost.

The ultimate irrigation potential of the project is 38870 hectare and upto March 2011 irrigation potential created is 17160 hectare.
