ii. Ogee-shaped spillway having 20 radial gates each of size 12m x 8m to pass design flood of 7,844 m3/s.

iii. Two head regulators for two canals constructed on left flank and right flank.

iv. 69 km long Left Bank Canal (LBC) and 48 km long Right Bank Canal (RBC) having head discharge of 8.50 m3/s and 6.90 m3/s respectively.

v. Distribution network on LBC and RBC to irrigate CCA of 38264 ha in Parbhani and Jalna districts out of which 801 ha lies in Jalna. The canal system will create the annual ultimate irrigation potential of 44482 ha in Parbhani and Jalna districts, of which 932 ha is in Jalna.

vi. The project will also provide 6.44 Mm3 water for domestic use and 1.64 Mm3 water for industrial use.

The project was approved by the Planning Commission, Govt. of India in March 1983 for an estimated cost of Rs 53.2066 crore at price level 1980-81 after acceptance by the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC).
