Brief Description
Dudhi medium irrigation project is located near village Kunwar Kotri of Narsingarh Tehsil in Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh, across river Dudhi, a tributary of Chambal River in Ganga basin. The dam is about 110 km from Bhopal. The project consists of an earthen dam with gated central spillway across river Dudhi. The length of the dam is 3570 meter and maximum height is 12.50 meter. The central spillway is 76.0 meter long with 9 numbers of radial gates of size 6.0 x 4.50 meter to discharge 1310.0 cumec of flood. The main canal is 11.25 km and total area under irrigation is 4810 hectare in 20 villages of Rajgarh district. The CCA of the project is 4225 hectare, irrigated command area is 3700 hectare and potential of the project is 4810 hectare.
The project received investment clearance from Planning Commission in the year 1979 for an estimated cost of Rs 285.59 lakh. The project was started in the year 1979 and the project received World Bank Aid as well as NABARD loan for completing the project. The project was completed in the year 1998.
